Frequently Asked Question
:
1. Is this the same Cushion Grip Thermoplastic Denture Adhesive that was originally sold by Schering Plough and Merck?
Yes, Cushion Grip is back by popular demand. USpharma has relaunched the original thermoplastic formula that Cushion Grip users loved and depended on to secure their dentures. When purchasing, look for the Cushion Grip logo with the original formula on the package. Be wary of imitation brands claiming they are a Cushion Grip replacement.
2. After applying Cushion Grip, how long do I have to wait to eat, drink, or take dentures out?
At least 2 hours. The longer the better. Cushion Grip takes an average of 2-6 hours to fully cure.
Tip:
Our brand ambassadors like to apply it at night before bed so it can cure the whole night uninterrupted.
3. Can I soak my dentures with Cushion Grip on them?
Yes, but do not soak for the first 24 hours after application. After that, you can clean and soak like normal because Cushion Grip is 100% waterproof and will not wash off or break down in water.
4
. Is Cushion Grip a glue adhesive?
Cushion Grip is not a glue adhesive; it works similarly to a soft reline by filling in the gaps and spaces between your gums and dentures. It adheres to your dentures, not to your gums; it only secures the fit with your gums
It's not designed to be a holding agent. When used correctly, Cushion Grip will give you more comfort and a better fitting denture along with saving you money.
5.
Why does it tingle? What to expect after applying Cushion Grip to your dentures?
A temporary slight stinging or burning sensation like mouthwash may be experienced at first application even with healthy gums but should last no more than 5 minutes.
Cushion Grip contains antibacterial ingredients that inhibit the formation of biofilm. The tingling sensation is normal and only lasts a few minutes.
This product contains a small amount of alcohol.
Do not use if you have any open sores or cuts
in your mouth or gums
.
Please wait to use until after your extraction sites are healed.
6. How do you store and what is the expiration date of Cushion Grip?
Please store Cushion Grip at room temperature. Keep out of cold climates to avoid hardening. Keep the cap on tightly to prevent product hardening at the neck.
When stored appropriately Cushion Grip will not expire.
7
.
What do I do when the Cushion Grip has hardened in the tube?
A thermoplastic dental adhesive requires heat to produce a softer pliable adhesive that provides a soft cushion for gums when applied to a denture. It hardens as it cools creating a stronger hold when compared to ordinary cream/paste dental adhesives. Cushion Grip Thermoplastic Denture Adhesive holds up to 4 days versus other dental adhesives that last 8-12 hours.
Ensure tube is placed in hot water upside down with cap tightly closed to facilitate easy removal from the tube. At room temperature, Cushion Grip is a highly viscous semi-solid material which becomes pliable with heat.
8. I am having a difficult time with the application and/or removal process, what should I do?
Applying:
Cushion Grip is heat activated. Heat/warm tube in a glass of hot tap water (not heated on stove or boiling) for 3-5 minutes.
Make sure your denture is completely dry and clean. When it gets pliable in the tube, squeeze out about a pea size round amount placed in denture and spread it out. Apply cushion grip and place denture in mouth for about one minute, applying pressure. Remove denture and wait about 5 minutes before putting it back in your mouth. Works best if you wait at least one hour before eating/chewing.
Removing:
To remove, place denture in hot water for 10 minutes allowing Cushion Grip to be easily peeled off like a liner.
Or please call the number listed on the instructions and ask for a Brand Ambassador. They will be able help you with the application and/or removal process and answer any question regarding Cushion Grip.
