Vintage McGovern political benefit concert pin back button. On April 15, 1972 at the Los Angeles Forum a political benefit concert was given for then presidential candidate George McGovern to raise money for his campaign against Richard Nixon. The performers were Barbra Streisand, Carol King and James Taylor. Also in attendance were honorary ushers Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Julie Christie, Sally Kellerman, James Earl Jones, Jacqueline Bisset, Michelle Gilliam, Mike Nichols, Shirley McClaine, Goldie Hawn, Gene Hackman, Elliott Gould, Marlo Thomas, Burt Lancaster, John Voight, Raquel Welch, Michael Sarraxin and Britt Ekland. The vintage political badge was printed by the Western Badge Company of Los Angeles and Anaheim, California. This vintage pinback is in excellent condition with minimal surface wear and some discoloration to the original chrome finish on the back of the button and measures 3 ½” in diameter. This is a great piece of historical memorabilia that is now hard to find due to the age and the limited quantity produced for the benefit concert. This pin back button was only sold at the benefit rally.
There may be a very thin white line either horizontal or vertical in the photos-due to a thin crack in our camera lens.
